Jets Express Interest In Baylor HC Matt Rhule


Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the Jets have expressed interest in Baylor coach Matt Rhule for their head coaching position.

However, it’s unclear when or if an interview has been scheduled between the Jets and Rhule.

The list of reported interviews for the Jets includes:

  3. Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (Expected)
  4. Buccaneers OC Todd Monken (Requested)
  5. Former Lions & Colts HC Jim Caldwell (Expected)
  6. Iowa State coach Matt Campbell (Declined)
  7. Former Packers HC Mike McCarthy (Expected)
  8. USC OC Kliff Kingsbury (Interested)
  9. Baylor HC Matt Rhule (Interested)

The Colts interviewed Rhule last year for their head-coaching position.

Rhule, 43, began his coaching career at Albright as a linebackers coach back in 1998. He worked for a number os schools including Buffalo, Western Carolina, UCLA and Temple before being hired by the Giants as an assistant offensive line coach for the 2012 season.

Rhule returned to Temple as their head coach in 2013 and spent four years in the position before being hired as new head coach at Baylor in 2017.

During time has a head coach, Rhule’s teams at Temple and Baylor produced a record of 36-40 (47.36 percent) and three bowl appearances.
