Jets Free Agent G Willie Colon Considering Retirement

Jets free agent G Willie Colon told ESPN New York 98.7 FM (via Rich Cimini) that he is considering retirement.

“I’m on the fence,” Colon said. “I still haven’t decided if I’m gonna go or not go. At this point, I’m trying to enjoy the couch and kicking my dog every morning. … I don’t want to rush it.”

Colon, 32, is a former fourth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2006. He spent six season in Pittsburgh before signing on with the Jets as a free agent in 2013.

Colon is currently an unrestricted free agent and one of the more notable interest offensive lineman available.

Last year, Colon appeared is six games for the Jets before he suffered a season-ending knee injury and was subsequently placed on their injured reserve list.
