Jets Have Opened Extension Talks With WR Quincy Enunwa

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets have initiated extension talks with WR Quincy Enunwa.

Mehta mentions that Enunwa has emerged as one of the team’s most reliable offensive weapons and isn’t showing any ill effects from neck surgery that sidelined him last season.

According to Mehta, there’s no guarantee a deal gets done during the season, but both sides are interested in finding middle ground.

Enunwa, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.995 million and made a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season before returning to the Jets on a one-year restricted deal worth $2.914 million.

Enunwa will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Enunwa has appeared in eight games for the Jets and caught 29 passes for 345 yards receiving and one touchdown.
