Jets Hosted RB Karlos Williams For A Visit, Five Teams Have Shown Interest

The New York Jets hosted former RB Karlos Williams for a visit on Tuesday, according to Sal Capaccio. However, no signing is considered imminent at this point in time.

  • Brian Costello adds that five teams have already shown interest in Williams, including the Jets, since he became available.

This comes just a day after Williams passed through waivers unclaimed.

The Bills made th decision cut Williams in part to his conditioning being a major issue. Reports mentioned that Williams showed up to offseason workouts between 20-25 pounds overweight.

It’s worth mentioning that Williams received a four-game suspension for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy.

Williams, 23, was taken in the fifth round of last year’s NFL Draft by the Bills. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2,495,352 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Williams appeared in 11 games for the Bills and ran for 517 yards on 93 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 96 yards receiving and 9 total touchdowns.
