Jets Hosted WR/KR Lucky Whitehead For Visit

According to Howard Balzer, the Jets hosted free agent WR/KR Lucky Whitehead for a visit on Saturday.

Whitehead was with the Jets this summer but was released with an injury settlement, so this could be New York taking a look at him to see how he’s doing right now.

Whitehead, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.585 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Cowboys elected to move on from him, even though he had all charges against him dropped and the warrant for his arrest was rescinded in a legal matter that turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

The Jets later claimed him off of waivers. Unfortunately, he was waived with an injury designation and later reverted to injured reserve before being waived with an injury settlement a few weeks later.

In 2016, Whitehead appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries to go along with 394 kick return yards and
