Update: Texas A&M WR Mike Evans Also Visiting The Jets This Week

Mike Garafolo reports that the Texas A&M WR Mike Evans will also be visiting with the Jets this week.

• Garafolo adds that Murray State WR/KR Walter Powell is visiting the Jets on Monday as well.

Evans is just the latest receiver who is the discussion to be drafted in the first-round to meet with the Jets.

However, it’s unlikely that Evans would be available to the Jets at No. 18 overall. Trading up is probably the only way for them to get Evans, but it’s hard to imagine them going this route with such a deep class of receiver prospects.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets will host a number of receiver prospects next week including USC WR Marqise Lee, LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. and Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks. 

• Lee is actually visiting with the Jets starting on Sunday and into Monday.
• Meanwhile, Beckham. Jr is meeting with the team on Monday and Tuesday.

The Jets are clearly in the market for more help at receiver, despite the additions of Eric Decker and Jacoby Ford in free agency.

All three of these receivers have been popular names connected to the Jets in recent mock drafts, so it really wouldn’t be much of a surprise if at least one of them were available by the time they are on the clock at No. 18 overall.
