Jets Likely To Target WR Emmanuel Sanders In Free Agency?

Seth Walder of the New York Daily News writes that Steelers impending free agent WR Emmanuel Sandersappears to be a strong candidate” for the Jets to target in free agency.

Previously reports mentioned that the Jets “covet” Sanders and Jeremy Maclin. However, Maclin is off the board now that he has signed an extension with Eagles, so it seems reasonable to think they would turn their attention to Sanders in the coming days.

Sanders, 26, is coming off of his best season in the league. He totaled 67 receptions for 740 yards and six touchdowns over the course of 16 games.

Last year, the Patriots attempted to sign him away from Pittsburgh as a restricted free agent, but the Steelers ultimately matched their offer. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots still have interest in Sanders, especially now that they could lose WR Julian Edelman during free agency.

We have him listed as the No. 53 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
