Jets Not Expected To Be An Option For WR Chad Johnson

Following Chad Johnson‘s release from the Miami Dolphins last night, the idea was quickly proposed that the New York Jets could be a possible landing spot for the veteran receiver, but according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the “chances of that happening are remote.”

Johnson, 34, still has quickness and some overall ability, but he’s by no means an impact player at this point in his career. Add in the fact that he comes with character concerns and is seemingly a distraction for any team, even if he’s being quiet, and makes it hard to imagine that he’ll be able to secure a position with an NFL team before the start of the season. It seems as though, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss benefited from time away from the game, while maintaining their physical condition. Johnson might get another shot at some point in the future, but I guess anything’s possible.
