Jets Place Rookie DL Lawrence Thomas On Injured Reserve

The New York Jets announced that they’ve placed rookie DL Lawrence Thomas on injured reserve Thursday to make room for WR/KR Jeremy Ross, who was signed to a contract.

Thomas, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State back in May. He stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

Thomas managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. He seems like a candidate for the Jets’ practice squad if he passes through waivers unclaimed tomorrow.

In 2016, Thomas has appeared in three games and recorded four tackles and no sacks for the Jets.
