Jets Place LB Julian Stanford On Injured Reserve After Clearing Waivers

The New York Jets have officially placed LB Julian Stanford on injured reserve Thursday after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Stanford, 26, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Wagner back in 2012. He lasted over a year in Jacksonville before joining the Lions during the 2013 season.

Stanford played briefly for the Buccaneers last year before signing on to the Jets’ practice squad and later returning on a future/reserve contract. He was waived a few weeks into the regular season and later added to the Jets’ practice squad before getting the call up to the active roster a month ago.

New York waived him with an injury designation on Wednesday.

In 2016, Stanford has appeared in nine games and recorded 22 tackles for the Jets.
