Jets Placing RB Khiry Robinson On Active/PUP List

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets are placing RB Khiry Robinson on the active/PUP list to open training camp.

The Jets have already signed veteran RB Bernard Pierce to a contract and they’re expected to waive RB Zac Stacy with a failed physical designation, so there’s currently a lot of movement at the running back position for New York.

Players placed on the active/PUP list can return to practice once activated. However, if they remain on PUP list to start the regular season, they would miss at least the first six weeks.

Robinson, 26, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2013. He managed to make the team’s 53-man roster in all three years with the Saints.

The Jets ultimately signed him to a one-year, $1.175 million contract as a free agent back in March.

In 2015, Robinson appeared in eight games and ran for 180 yards on 56 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 17 receptions for 115 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
