Jets Placing Rookie WR Devin Smith On Season-Ending I.R. With Torn ACL

Jets HC Todd Bowles announced Monday that rookie WR Devin Smith tore his ACL during Sunday’s game against the Titans and will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Smith, 23, is in the first year of his four-year, $5.872 million rookie contract that includes $3.667 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $435,000 this season and another $525,000 in 2016.

Smith appeared in 10 games and caught nine passes for 115 yards receiving and one touchdown over the Jets.
