Jets Planning To Start Josh McCown In Week 13

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets are planning to start Josh McCown at quarterback on Sunday.

According to Rapoport, the Jets are committed to making sure QB Sam Darnold (foot, questionable) is 100 percent when he returns to the field. Darnold could still work out on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, Jets HC Todd Bowles told reporters that he planned to wait until Sunday before making the call on who their starter will be, but it sounds like McCown will get another start.

McCown, 39, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2002. He played for several teams including the Lions, Raiders, Dolphins, Panthers, 49ers, Bears, Buccaneers and Browns before signing a one-year, $6 million contract with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent last offseason.

The Jets brought McCown back this past March on a one-year contract worth $10 million.

In 2018, McCown has appeared in two games and completed 54.4 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 29 yards.
