Jets “Pleasantly Surprised” With Tim Tebow

New York Jets quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh mentioned that he’s been “pleasantly surprised” with Tim Tebow thus far.

Not just watching him play on film,” Cavanaugh said, via the New York Daily News. “I think he’s certainly got the arm strength. He has good mechanics. They’re getting better every day.”

Cavanaugh adds that Tebow has been focusing on the “fundamentals of trying to be rhythmic in the pocket” this offseason.

Normally coaches aren’t praising Tebow quarterback “mechanics,” but it’s obviously something that Tim has been working on since entering the NFL, so it would make sense for to at least make some strides. If he’s able to show the coaching staff that he’s an able passer during the offseason, it will only add to the mounting pressure on Mark Sanchez to perform at a high level.
