Jets To Promote LB Freddie Bishop & DL Lawrence Thomas To Active Roster

The New York Jets announced Saturday that they’ve promoted LB Freddie Bishop and DL Lawrence Thomas to their active roster and waived LB Edmond Robinson with an injury designation.

Should Robinson pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Monday.

Bishop, 27, originally signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2013. He lasted just over a month in Detroit before he was waived.

Bishop later joined the Calgary Stampeders and played there for three seasons in the CFL before the Jets signed him to a contract last February. He was on and off of their active roster last season but was, unfortunately, cut loose a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Bishop appeared in four games and recorded nine tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.
