Contract Detail For Jets’ DT Sione Pouha

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets gave NT Sione Pouha a three-year deal worth $15 million and includes $9.5 million guarantees.

This is certainly a solid deal for Pouha who just turned 33 years old. The Jets could afford to lose him after he’s been one of the best nose tackles in the game.

Paul Soliai is certainly happy to see this as he should secure an even better contract despite not being as productive as Pouha’s been.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have re-signed DT Sione Pouha to a three-year contract extension.

Reports surfaced over the weekend that suggested that a deal could be in place by which ultimately proved to be the case. New York had retaining Pouha at the top of their offseason priority list so they have be happy about what they’ve done so far.

We mentioned that they’re reported to be interested in signing S LaRon Landry and they could use help at wide receiver, running back and at right tackle so it will be interesting to see who they target in the coming days.
