Jets Release RB Thomas Rawls

Connor Hughes reports that the Jets are releasing RB Thomas Rawls on Saturday as their cut their roster down to 53 players.

Rawls, 25, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan back in May of last year. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.59 million rookie contract but was not tendered a restricted offer by the Seahawks.

Rawls signed on with the Jets this past March.

In 2017, Rawls appeared in 12 games for the Seahawks and rushed for 157 yards on 58 carries (2.7 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 94 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
