Jets Release Veteran RB Bernard Pierce From Injured Reserve

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have released veteran RB Bernard Pierce from their injured reserve list on Saturday.

Pierce, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He spent three years in Baltimore before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

The Jets just signed Pierce to a contract a few weeks ago, but was later placed on injured reserve earlier in the week.

Pierce’s 2015 season was cut short after he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a calf injury. Last year, Pierce ran for 11 yards on six carries (1.8 YPC) to go along with three receptions for seven yards receiving and no touchdowns.
