Jets Release WR Quinton Patton From I.R. With Settlement

The New York Jets officially released WR Quinton Patton from the injured reserve with a settlement on Thursday.

Patton, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech. He just finished the final year of a four-year, $2.551 million rookie contract that included a $391,500 signing bonus.

Patton went down with a foot injury during Week 15’s game against the Falcons and was subsequently placed on the season-ending injured reserve. The Jets signed him to a one-year $825,000 contract this past March before recently waiving him with an injury designation and later placing him on injured reserve.

In 2016, Patton appeared in 14 games for the 49ers and recorded 37 receptions for 208 yards receiving with no touchdowns. ProFootballFocus rates him as the No. 97 overall wide receiver out of 115 qualifying players.
