Jets Rookie Leonard Williams Has Muscle Strain In Knee, Short-Term Injury

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that further testing on Jets first-round DL Leonard Williams‘ injured knee revealed that he has just a strain in his knee.

  • According to Garafolo, this is considered to be a short-term injury for Williams.

Reports from last night mentioned that X-rays came back negative on Williams’ knee, so it was expected that he’d get good news today.

With Sheldon Richardson in line to server a four-game suspension to open the season, Williams will be counted on to start at defensive end, at least until Richardson is back.

The Jets season opener against the Browns is two weeks away, so he has until then to get his knee as healthy as possible.
