Rich Cimini of ESPN New York sees former Dolphins QB Chad Henne as a “viable No. 2” option for the Jets. Cimini adds the only real issue with the idea is regarding the money that it would require to sign Henne.
Henne, who is coming off of shoulder surgery, played in Miami under current Jets OC Tony Sparano and should provide a better backup option to Mark Sanchez than Mark Brunell has been for the last few years. Some have speculated that not having any true competition behind Sanchez has had a negative effect on his overall development as a quarterback.
The Broncos have been reported to have some interest in Henne as well so there could end up being a stronger market for his services than one would’ve thought a few months ago.
