Jets Sign CB Darryl Morris To A One-Year Deal

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jets have signed CB Darryl Morris to a contract on Thursday.

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan was with the Texans a few years ago when they added Morris, so he’s obviously familiar with him as a player.

Morris, 25, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas State back in 2013. He was on and off of their practice squad before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later claimed by the Texans.

Morris was in line to be a restricted free agent, but the Texans elected to not tender him an offer, which allowed him to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Morris appeared in 12 games and recorded 15 tackles for the Texans.
