Jets Sign DB Kendall James To Futures Deal

The New York Jets announced that they’ve signed DB Kendall James to future/reserve contract on Thursday.

James becomes the 10th players the Jets have signed future’s contracts. The full list includes:

  1. TE Brandon Bostick
  2. WR Joe Anderson
  3. OLB Deion Barnes
  4. G Jarvis Harrison
  5. OLB Julian Howsare
  6. TE Wes Saxton
  7. CB Kevin Short
  8. NT Deon Simon
  9. OLB Julian Stanford

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

James, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Vikings back in May of 2014. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to the Vikings’ practice squad.

He has brief stints with the Texans and Chargers before later signing a future/reserve contract with the Browns in December of last year.

James was once again unable to make the Browns’ 53-man roster at the start of the regular season, and was eventually released from the team’s practice just a week ago.

James has yet to appear in an NFL game.
