Jets Sign Former Lions QB Drew Stanton

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily news reports that the New York Jets have found their backup quarterback in former Lions QB Drew Stanton. Mehta adds that Jets signed him to a one-year deal.

After re-signing Mark Sanchez to a three-year contract extension, the team turned their attention to finding a younger backup quarterback that could push Sanchez throughout training camp. Chad Henne was reportedly as the top of their list but he wound up signing with the Jaguars so the Jets decided on go with Stanton.

Stanton, 27, has managed to play in 13 games over the course of his NFL career.
