Jets Sign G Brian Waters To Four-Year, $29M Extension With $15M Gtd

The New York Jets announced Monday that they’ve signed guard Brian Winters to a four-year extension.

  • According to Dan Graziano, Winters’ new contract is a four-year, $29 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed.

This contract tops Jeff Allen‘s four-year, $28 million contract with the Texans that included $12 million guaranteed and leaves Winters in the top-10 highest paid guards in the NFL.

The Jets don’t have many priority free agents to address this year but bringing back Winters makes a lot of sense for them.

Winters, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Jets back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,903,876 rookie contract with the Jets and was in line to be one of the best available interior offensive linemen in this year’s free agent market.

In 2016, Winters appeared in 13 games for the Jets and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 32 guard out of 76 qualifying players.

We’ll have the contract details for Winters new deal posted as they’re available.
