Jets Sign K Chandler Catanzaro

The New York Jets announced Friday that they’ve signed former Cardinals K Chandler Catanzaro to a contract.

New York moved on from veteran K Nick Folk a few weeks ago, so they were clearly going to be in the market for a new kicker.

Catanzaro, 26, signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in 2014. He has spent all three years of his career with the Cardinals before they elected to not tender him a contract earlier in the week, making him an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Catanzaro appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and converted 21 of 28 field goal attempts (75 percent) to go along with 43 of 47 extra point tries and 52 touchbacks.
