Jets Sign K Kyle Brindza To Futures Deal

The New York Jets have signed K Kyle Brindza to a future/reserve contract on Friday, according to Adam Schefter.

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Brindza, 23, wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame days after this year’s NFL draft. Detroit later traded him to the Buccaneers in return for TE Tim Wright at the end of the preseason.

However, Brindza lasted just a few months in Tampa Bay before he was waived back in October.

In 2015, Brindza appeared in four games and coverted just six of 12 field goal attempts to go along with six of eight extra point attempts and 12 touchbacks.
