Jets Sign OL Bruce Campbell, Place Jermaine Cunningham On IR

The New York Jets announced the signing of veteran OL Bruce Campbell on Tuesday. The team also placed LB Jermaine Cunningham on the injured reserve list.

Campbell, 26, is a former fourth-round selection of the Oakland Raiders. This offseason, he appeared to have signed a deal with the Redskins, however the agreement was later voided.

Campbell actually tried out for the Jets back in June, but he left without a contract.

Cunningham is a former second-round pick of the Patriots. He has an Achilles injury that will require surgery and cost him the 2014 season.

Jermaine has an Achilles that’s going to require surgery, so he’ll be out for the year with that,” head coach Rex Ryan said Monday. “That’s obviously bad news there for us. The young man was really coming on. We’re certainly going to miss him.”
