Jets Sign Plaxico Burress To A One-Year Deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that the New York Jets have signed WR Plaxico Burress, 34, to a one-year deal forĀ $3.01 million contract. Burress mentioned that the deal was “all about Rex.”

This move will most likely remove them from the market for WR Braylon Edwards. Burress will instead be lineup opposite of Santonio Holmes. With Burress missing the last 18 months, there’s going to be question marks regarding his ability so the one-year makes plenty of sense.

The Steelers, Eagles, 49ers and Giants were all believed to be in on Burress but ultimately he felt that the Jets were his best option.
