Manish Mehta, Jets beat writer for the New York Daily News, reports that the Jets have signed no. 16 overall pick Quinton Coples to a four year contract worth close to $9 million.
The contract does come with a fifth year option and is fully guaranteed. Coples’ presence will be much needed with an anemic pass rush last season. Rex Ryan hopes that Coples’ athleticism will translate onto the field, something that did not pan out with former first round selection, Vernon Gholston.
