Jets Sign TE Chris Gragg, Waive Rookie WR KD Cannon

The New York Jets announced that they’ve signed TE Chris Gragg to a contract and placed rookie WR KD Cannon on waivers.

Gragg, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,219,175 contract with the Bills and is currently testing the open market for the first time in his career.

Unfortunately, Gragg missed the entire 2016 season with a torn ACL that led to him being placed on injured reserve at the start of the season.

In 2015, Gragg appeared in 13 games for the Bills and caught 12 passes for 150 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Cannon, 21, signed on with the 49ers as a priority free agent out of Baylor shortly after this year’s draft. The 49ers actually gave Cannon a $45,000 signing bonus as part of his deal.

However, San Francisco somewhat surprisingly elected to move on from him after just a few days, even though they gave him $5,000 to sign. The Jets later claimed him off of waivers.

During his three-year college career at Baylor, Cannon recorded 195 receptions for 3,113 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. He also totaled three rushing attempts for 14 rushing yards (4.7 YPC).
