The New York Jets announced the signing of second-round pick TE Jace Amaro on Friday.
Amaro is the eighth draft pick to sign out of the Jets’ 12-man draft class, but they have made enough progress in recent days that there is a very good chance that the rest of them could be under contract before the end of the weekend.
Last year, Amaro put together a break out season for Texas Tech. He caught 106 receptions for 1,818 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.
The Jets could really use a receiving threat like Amaro at the tight end position, so it will be interesting to see how quickly he gets acclimated to the team’s offense this summer.
