The New York Jets announced Tuesday they have signed WR Jeremy Ross to a contract and placed LB Taiwan Jones on waivers.
Ross, 28, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2011. He played briefly for the Colts before joining the Packers in October of 2012.
The Lions would later sign him to a contract and give him an opportunity to their kick returner where Ross showed some ability. However, he was among the teamâs final roster cuts before signing on to the Ravensâ practice squad.
Ross eventually signed on with the Raiders and finished out the year in Oakland. However, they didnât tender him a contract as a restricted free agent.
The Jets signed him in April only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Ross later re-signed to the team but was unfortunately released back in September.
In 2016, Ross has been active in two games and totaled 52 kick return yards for the Jets.
