Jets Sign WR Quincy Enunwa To Four-Year, $36M Extension

The New York Jets announced Friday that they’ve signed WR Quincy Enunwa to a multi-year extension.

  • According to Brian Costello, Enunwa’s new deal is a four-year, $36 million agreement.
  • Rich Cimini adds that Enunwa’s contract includes $20 million guaranteed.

I knew when I got here that I wanted to be a Jet for a very long time,” Enunwa said. “Now, I’ll get my opportunity and it feels really good.

“I’m excited for the future and for some more big plays. And I think there is a lot in store for us as a team.

“Quincy is a key part of our foundation, and we are thrilled that this contract will keep him here for years to come,” GM Mike Maccagnan said.

Reports from last month mentioned that the Jets had opened extension talks with Enunwa and it looks like the two parties were able to get an agreement in place to prevent him from testing the open market.

Enunwa, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.995 million and made a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season before returning to the Jets on a one-year restricted deal worth $2.914 million.

Enunwa was in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Enunwa has appeared in 11 games for the Jets and caught 38 passes for 449 yards receiving and one touchdown.
