Jets Signing First-Round Pick DL Leonard Williams To A Four-Year Deal

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Jets are expected to have an agreement in place with first-round pick DL Leonard Williams at some point tonight.

  • According to Garafolo, Williams will receive a four-year contract worth $18.6 million, which includes a $11.8 million signing bonus.

Williams and second-round pick WR Devin Smith are the only two Jets from their 2015 draft class who have yet to sign their rookie contracts.

Williams wound up dropping further than anticipated, and even though the Jets are very deep up front, the value proved to be too much for them to pass up.

During his three-years at USC, Williams recorded 218 tackles, 36.5 tackles for a loss, 21 sacks, two interceptions and five forced fumbles.
