Jets Signing OT Zach Sterup To Practice Squad

According to Brett Tesler, the Jets are signing OT Zach Sterup to their practice squad.

The Jets’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. S Ronald Martin
  2. G Craig Watts
  3. LB Freddie Bishop
  4. CB Bryson Keeton
  5. S Doug Middleton
  6. CB Dexter McDougle
  7. RB Brandon Wilds
  8. DT Brandin Bryant
  9. OT Jesse Davis
  10. WR Myles White
  11. OT Zach Sterup

Sterup, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Nebraska back in May but received an invite to participate in the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Chiefs later signed him to a three-year, $1.62 million contract.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs waived him coming out of the preseason and he’s been on and off of their practice squad this season.

Kansas City decided to waive Sterup once again on Tuesday and was quickly claimed by New York.

It’s worth mentioning that Sterup was suspended in August for the first four games for violating the policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Sterup started 17 games for Nebraska during his college career.
