ESPN New York reports that the New York Jets still have former Dolphins QB Chad Henne as a “top target” despite the fact that they re-signed Mark Sanchez to a three-year contract extension on Friday.
Their sources have suggested that the Jets are the favorites to land Henne even though some view him as the 4th best available quarterback behind Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn and Alex Smith.
The obvious connection to former Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano, paired with their need for a backup quarterback that’s not in his 40’s, makes this seem like a very possible option.
