Jets Have Had Talks With Free Agent OLB Erik Walden

Brian Costello of the New York Post reports that the Jets have had talks with free agent OLBĀ Erik Walden in recent weeks. Costello says that Walden is at least a name to keep an eye on for New York moving forward.

Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com recently reported that the Titans still have WaldenĀ on their radar three months after he visited with the team.

According to McCormick,Ā the Titans remain in contact on Walden along with a few other teams.Ā McCormick adds thatĀ Walden could take a visit to another club at some point in the next week, as he sorts out his available options.

Walden, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He lasted just a few months in Dallas before he was waived at the start of the 2008 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Chiefs.

Walden eventually ended up in Miami where he played two seasons before the Packers signed him to a contract in 2010. After three years in Green Bay, Walden departed for a four-year, $16,000,000 contract with the Colts.

In 2016, Walden appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and recorded 42 tackles, 11 sacks, and three forced fumbles.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 104 pass rusher out of 109 qualifying players.

We have him featured in ourĀ Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
