Jets Could Target Multiple WRs In This Year’s Draft?

NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock mentioned during his Tuesday press conference that he “wouldn’t be surprised” to see the Jets target more than one receiver in the draft this year, via CollegeFootball 24/7.

  • Mayock added this is the “deepest draft he’s seen in years at wide receiver,” per Bart Hubbach.

As for potential draft targets, Mayock specifically mentioned that the Jets “can’t go wrong with Marqise Lee from USC or Mike Evans from Texas A&M.”

The Jets have been connected to a number of free agent receivers in the past few months as it remains a glaring issue. Former No. 43 overall pick Stephen Hill has yet to develop into a consistent weapon in their offense and they are widely expected to part ways with Santonio Holmes in the coming weeks.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported a few weeks ago that Jets “covet” free agent wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders, and also mentioned that Eric Decker could be on their radar as well.

You could also add Riley Cooper to the list of options for the Jets as well given that he is expected to generate plenty of interest this offseason.

We have Decker, Maclin, Sanders and Cooper all listed in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
