Jets Targeting A Defensive Player In Round One?

 

Mike Garafolo and Jay Glazer of Fox Sports both expect the Jets to target a defensive player in the first round of the draft.

There has been so much talk about the Jets targeting a receiver in round one that this is actually somewhat surprising to hear.

New York was reportedly trying to trade up for someone like LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr, but it’s possible that they don’t feel comfortable parting with the type of compensation it would take to make such a move.

The Jets could obviously use a cornerback and there should be some option to them at No. 18 overall.

For what it’s worth, we have the Jets trading up to No. 13 overall with the Rams and taking Beckham Jr in our final 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
