Jets Targeting Norv Turner & Cam Cameron As Their Next OC?

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports that the Jets have interest in both Chargers current head coach Norv Turner and former Ravens OC Cam Cameron as potential replacements for offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.

Turner figures to be fired on Monday and even admitted that he intends to continue coaching next season. As for Cameron, he’s already available after Baltimore surprisingly cut him loose a few weeks ago. He has ties to head coach Rex Ryan, so there’s a chance he could be brought in the coming weeks to run the team’s offense.

Sparano will almost certainly be let go on Monday after his one year with the Jets turned out to be a horrible season for everyone involved.

Raiders’ director of player personnel Joey Clinkscales who has ties to the Ryan and the Jets organization and Ravens senior personnel assistant George Kokinis who also has ties to Ryan are both reportedly being concerned as potential GM replacements.

    • There was an interesting article from the New York Daily News that suggested that unless Jets owner Woody Johnson was willing to reinvest in the team’s offense, Rex was better off just being fired. They seem to think that Ryan’s job is safe and the blame lies more with GM Mike Tannenbaum and OC Tony Sparano.
