Jets Tried Out RB Bernard Pierce

The New York Jets brought in free agent RB Bernard Pierce for a tryout on Wednesday.

This is actually the second tryout for Pierce with the Jets in the past few weeks, so he’s clearly on their radar as a potential addition.

Pierce, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He spent three years in Baltimore before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

The Jets just signed Pierce to a contract back in August but he was later placed on injured reserve. Pierce was eventually cut loose with an injury settlement.

Pierce’s 2015 season was cut short after he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a calf injury. Last year, Pierce ran for 11 yards on six carries (1.8 YPC) to go along with three receptions for seven yards receiving and no touchdowns.
