Jets Tried Out WR Charles Johnson

According to Howard Balzer, the Jets brought in free agent WR Charles Johnson for a tryout on Monday.

Johnson, 29, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Grand Valley State back in 2013. He had a brief stint with the Browns before the Vikings signed him off of their practice squad at the start of the 2014 season.

The Panthers signed Johnson to a one-year, $2.2 million contract last year but he was placed on injured reserve in July and eventually cut loose this past February.

In 2016, Johnson appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and caught 20 passes for 232 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 90 receiver out of 115 qualifying players that season.
