Jets Trying To Trade TE Clive Walford

Manish Mehta reports that the Jets are fielding trade offers for TE Clive Walford and hoping to move him before the cut-down deadline on Saturday.

Mehta mentions that the Jets have had a solid depth at tight end this summer and Walford has had some good moments this preseason.

Walford, 26, is a former third-round pick out of Miami by the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is in the final year of his four-year, $3.345 million rookie contract and set to earn a base salary of $822,800 for the 2018 season.

The Raiders elected to place Walford on waivers back in April and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Jets.

In 2017, Walford appeared in 13 games for the Raiders and recorded nine receptions for 80 yards receiving and no touchdown.
