Jets Waive DB Ronald Martin

The New York Jets officially placed DB Ronald Martin on waivers Monday, according to the NFL transactions release.

This move was made to free up a roster spot for S Dion Bailey, who claimed off of waivers from the Seahawks today.

Martin, 22, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of shortly after this year’s draft. However, he waived during roster cuts and later claimed by the Jets.

Martin in the first year of his three-year, $1.58 million rookie contract that included a $5,000 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $435,000 for the 2015 season.

This season, Martin has appeared in all three games for the Jets, but has yet to record a single statistic.
