The New York Jets officially waived WR Kenbrell Thompkins from injured reserve with a settlement on Monday.
Thompkins, 27, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2013. He was able to make the Patriots 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but released a few months into of the 2014 regular season.
The Raiders wound up claiming Thompkins off of waivers, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts. Thompkins briefly returned to the Patriots before signing to the Jets’ practice squad midseason.
The Jets waived him with an injury designation a few weeks ago.
In 2015, Thompkins appeared in seven games and caught 17 passes for 165 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
