Jets Worked Out 5 Players

According to Howard Balzer, the New York Jets brought in five free agents for workouts a few days ago including WR Marvin Bracy, WR DeVon Edwards, DT Woodrow Hamilton, LB Curt Maggitt and CB J.R. Nelson.

Hamilton, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad.

New England later promoted him to their active roster for a brief period of the time before re-adding him to their practice squad.

The Patriots brought Hamilton back on a future/reserve contract this past February but he was waived from injured reserve right before the start of the regular season.

In 2016, Hamilton appeared in two games and recorded three tackles and no sacks for the Patriots.

Bracy, 23, is an American sprinter who competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics and came in third place in the 100 meters. He played college football at Florida State, but left the team in 2013 to pursue a professional career in track.

The Colts signed him to a contract during the preseason before cutting him loose a few weeks later.
