Jets Worked Out 13 Players

According to Howard Balzer, the New York Jets brought in 13 free agents for workouts this week including LB Zaire Anderson and RB Mack Brown

The full list of tryouts for the Jets includes:

  1. LB Zaire Anderson
  2. LB Kwaku Boateng
  3. LB Jonathan Celestin
  4. LB Avery Ellis
  5. LB Manase Hungalu
  6. RB Joel Bouagnon
  7. RB Mack Brown
  8. RB Martez Carter
  9. RB Akrum Wadley
  10. K Ty Long
  11. OT Ryker Mathews
  12. WR Bryant Mitchell
  13. WR D’haquille Williams

Of this group, the Jets signed Celestin and Bouagnon to their practice squad.

Anderson, 26, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska back in 2015. He has returned to the Broncos each of the last three years on one-year contracts.

However, the Broncos elected to waive him coming out of the preseason as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

He has worked out for a number of teams since becoming a free agent, including the Colts, Cardinals, Texans, and Jaguars.

In 2017, Anderson appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 23 total tackles, one fumble recovery, and scored one defensive touchdown.

Brown, 27, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2015. He lasted less than a month in Houston before signing on with the Redskins.

Brown was on and off of the Redskins’ practice squad the past two years before he was waived last year and later claimed off of waivers by the Vikings. Minnesota brought Brown back on an exclusive rights contract only to waive him with an injury settlement at the start of the season.
