Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Jets worked out former Patriots and Buccaneers WR/KR Jeff Demps on Tuesday.
Demps, 25, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2012. He was later traded to the Buccaneers in a deal that sent RB LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in return for Demps and a 2013 seventh-round pick.
Unfortunately for Demps, he was unable to make the Buccaneers’ final 53-man roster before the start of the 2014 season and was later placed on waivers.
The Colts elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract back in January, but he lasted until a few days after this year’s draft before he was cut.
He has yet to appear in a game this season.
