Jets Worked Out 3 Players Including WRs Griff Whalen & Darius Jennings

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Jets brought in receivers Griff Whalen and Darius Jennings for workouts on Monday.

  • Howard Balzer adds that the Jets also worked out LB Shaq Pettway on Monday.

Whalen, 26, signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2012. He spent his enter career in Indianapolis before he was placed on injured reserve and later waived from the list back in January.

The Dolphins later signed him to a contract this past March only to cut him loose at the start of the season. Whalen caught on with the Chargers a few weeks later. San Diego cut Whalen loose last week to make room fro RB Ronnie Hillman, who was claimed off of waivers.

In 2016, Whalen has appeared in eight games and caught two passes for 22 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Chargers.
